In the previous article, we know some types of debt that can be settled through debt settlement agencies. Now, it’s time to know the other types which don’t qualify for debt elimination programs.

Debt Types That Do Not Qualify For Debt Settlement

Unlike debt qualified, debt types that don’t qualify for debt settlement are those loans and debts that are known as secured debt, low internet rates as well. Here are the other debt types that cannot be settled.

1. Student loans:

Those loans can be covered, consolidated, but not settled. Student loans are secured types that have a great chance to repay with low interest rate through facilitating the payment procedures.

Here, there is just one exception which is unsecured student loans that a person can get from a private non-profit institution or out of the government. In this case, they will qualify for debt settlement.

2. Mortgage loans:

Those loans are the most common types of debt that are guaranteed by a property or the equity on that property and thus mortgage loans or home equity loans won’t qualify for debt settlement as there is no ability to negotiate with lenders who can always resort to request the foreclosure of the property and claim all the money owed.

The only solution for repaying those types of loans is to refinance your property which can modify the terms of the secured debt while keeping the security in place.

3. Car loans:

Just like mortgage loans or home equity loans, car loans are secured debt and can be refinanced. Thus, to solve any car loan problem, you should resort to either debt consolidation or refinancing.

4. Tax debts:

Those special types of debt have a special nature that anyone can deal with. A tax debt can be forgiven by the government agency, or you may resort to filing bankruptcy. Tax debts can’t be settled.

Now, you are able to find whether your debt can be settled or not.
